**CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER** Last year’s camp out at Hope campground in Squaw peak was really fun. And last year we discussed that we should do these more often. So we will be camping out at the Blackhawk Campgrounds in Payson! When we arrive, we will set up camp, and then play some good ol fashioned camp games! Bring your own food for that night. That morning, we will cook up some breakfast, go on a small ride, and then pack up to go home. You can’t have more fun camping out! Members get in free! If you haven’t renewed, the cost to stay there will be $4.00.
People have been asking about details so here is the nitty gritty:
• We will have a small car going to the campsite so if you need a place to stuff your food in, we will be bringing a cooler.
• We will have a little bit of space for camping gear as well, so if you can’t pack everything on your scooter, you can store it in the car.
• We will be leaving at 6PM, but there will be a couple people leaving between 6:30-7:00PM. If you want to ride with them, meet at the gas station then.
• Bring food for dinner that night, and breakfast that morning.
• Make sure to bring an extra coat and rain gear in case the weather gets bad.
• And lastly, we have a facebook event set up to see how many people are showing up, so please, if you can, show us you are attending so we can plan accordingly! Click here to RSVP
If you have any other questions, be sure to email sean [at] brighams bees dot com. Hope to see you there!

Last year, the bees scooted out to Payson for some bowling. It was early July, late in the day, and scatter showers. But for everyone that went, it was one of the best rides of last years season. Don’t take my word for it, ask the others who went!
This year, it’s been decided to follow the same ride to ensure that all members take the chance to enjoy this most epic ride. And just like last year, we actually have a new meeting location! Brigham’s Bees Scooter Club has it’s first sponsor: Crest Gas Station!
And with a sponsorship, comes its AWESOME BENEFITS! What it is? You’ll have to come to find out! But I’ll give you an extremely hard hint: Free Gas for BBSC rides.
…Ok so the hint isn’t that hard, but this gives every member a chance to show up to these rides!
So with all this said, we will be meeting up at Crest Gas Station in Provo @ 800 N 700 E in Provo to fuel up and then take off to South County Lanes in Payson to roll. Lebowski quotes are encouraged.

What can I say about the trip out to Antelope Island… Actually, I can say alot. Antelope Island has by far been one of the most enjoyable rides I’ve taken on a scooter and I won’t be far from forgetting it anytime soon.
The ride started bright and early at 9:00 AM from Orem through the small towns and houses of American Fork, and up to the infamous Suncrest Mountain. Once all of us made it over and fueled up on the other side, it was time to issue the covetous “Brigham’s Bees Lifetime Achievement Award” For 2010.
Now this member may not have the best attendance in rides, but when he shows up, the excitement in the air increases, the atmosphere is more cheery, and womenfolk’s libidos go crazy.
Boo Crandall has been in the club since 2001 and nine years later, he is still on his 59′ Vespa tearing it up all over the valley. Boo, this Lifetime Achievement Award is for you!
Once we awarded Boo, it was a quick sprint to Salt Lake City. With little time to spare, we were able to meet up with the Salt Lake crew (Thanks for waiting for us!) and made our way up to the island. Though we had a few breakdowns and tire flats, we made our way to the final gas station before we headed to the island. Alot of people chatted while we waited for the stragglers and broken down to meet up. We were able to finally join two parts of Utah together. Utah Valley and Salt Lake scooterists meeting up, laughing, talking, and just enjoying each others scooters.
We scooted our way up to the island and rode around there for an hour. From the views of the beaches, to the ranch, to even a bistro in which insects ate us alive (I got bumps all over my arms) We took photos, and enjoyed the beautiful day. After we took in the cool view of the island, we headed back into Salt Lake City for some awesome pizza at The Pie Pizzeria and then back to Orem by sundown. We spent about a total of 10 hours on our adventure, and every minute was a blast. Thanks everyone that showed up! You have proven your true scooter passion! See you next time in Payson for some bowling!

The first epic ride of the season is to Antelope Island. There is no doubt that this ride will be pretty insane! May 15th, we will embark early at 9:00 AM from Orem, to City Cakes & Cafe (900 South 282 East) to meet up with the Salt Lake crew. From there, we will make the trek to Antelope Island.
This ride will test the endurance of both you and your scooter, so be sure that you both can make it there and back! We will head to Antelope Island, eat some food, and then head back for some dinner. Usually rides are anywhere from 1-2 hours. This is estimated about 6 hours total & that’s not including stops. We go over Suncrest mountain each time. So it will test your scooter and endurance.
We have told people that if your scooter breaks down, we will try to help, but if it’s something major, you will have to leave your scooter, hop on another, and then pick it up at your own time. Not to give you a scare, but it may happen, so I always make sure people are aware of the worst possible scenario.
Some tips would be to take it easy with your scooter. No one is racing to get to Antelope island, so no one should be pushing their scooters to their limits for any reason. If your scooter is a little slower, we will go slower. If you can, bring some snacks and extra fuel in case you or someone runs of gas.
Outside of that, make sure your scooter is tuned up, and we will see you there!

Moab 2010 will have everyone talking for a LONG time with many memories to share. Many club members left early Friday to get out of the cold, and into the sun to set up their tents and prep their scooters. Later on that afternoon, everyone got around as the rally organizer, Dana, announced that dinner was complementary for everyone! It was an awesome chance to meet other scooter clubs and get some hot chili in our cold bodies Afterwards, the camp fire started to blaze as scooterists chatted about current events, scooters, and where they were from.
As the embers from the fire died down and the rain started to fall, everyone left to their tents excited for the next days ride to the arches. Upon waking up, everyone made themselves a hearty breakfast before the awesome ride ahead of them. Though weathermen said it would rain, mother nature said otherwise. The arches were perfect for weaving, speeding, and cruising through. The main group stopped at the window for photos and relaxation.
After the ride, all the scooterists made their way back to camp to party and chill with newly found friends and laugh with old ones too. There are honestly way too many stories to share so if you want to know some juicy details as to what happened, check the members page, and see who wend so you can ask them what happened. If you missed out on Moab, there is the crazy ride to Antelope Island coming soon! See you there!

Scoot Moab 2010 is an underground event for the past few years, and thankfully, the Bees have always been welcome to come. Last year, we shared the weekend with the classic car show, but this time, we have the city to ourselves. Beautiful camping, awesome town, and possibly the best roads to ride your scoot on.
Scoot Moab 2010 will start April 30th and end May 2nd. Plans are for a few rides here and there, with personal mischief and mayhem to discover. So get your scooter ready, get a trailer, and we will meet you down there!

The bees had their very first gymkhana on what can only be described as a perfect spring day. At 5:30 we set off for the rooftop parking lot in Provo. With only a couple hiccups with scooters, (Unfortunate event with Lee’s scooter) the club rolled up to the parking lot. Upon arriving, the club members were excited to roll on the freshly chalked up course and get their scooters ready to weave, speed, and slide their way to the finish line. After we parked and socialized, the course was explained, and our riders took their mark.
Once they left that starting line, each racer dashed through the course. Very impressive scores were set by all the scooter club members, but Ryan Van Fleet set the bar high at an impressive 31 seconds.
Then Dave Hurtado arrived at the starting line. From start to finish, you could tell that his racing style was ruthless, maniacal, and showed no restraint. He crossed the finish line and skidded to a stop at 29 seconds. After that, no one came near the new time set. Dave was awarded the new award of Gymkhana Master and will hold that title firm until next time. Check out all the awards people have won here! When that is? Who knows. Next stop, MOAB!
