High Rollers Weekend 2010

January 18th, 2010

hrwWell bees, it’s that time of the year again to brush the snow off your scooter, or take it out of the shed, and give you and your scoot a vacation! The high rollers weekend for 2010 is dated for Febuary 25th through the 28th. Registration for the rally can be done by clicking here!

As for hotels, wherever you want to stay is up to you, but for those on a tight budget, we are reserving hotel rooms and splitting the costs between whoever wants to share that room.

To get yourself a spot in a room, it’s a small fee of just $60.00 first come first serve with beds so there’s no excuse to not going! So,to either get a discount bed or to get a spot on the extreme budget room, you MUST RSVP, so give Sean a email or a phone call  (seanat brighamsbees dot com or 801 four zero four 4825)

We will all be meeting FRIDAY MORNING at 10:00 AM and leaving at 11:00 AMrally1. There will also be another small group leaving at 6:00PM. If you are a hardcore scooterist, you can ride to vegas on your scooter Thursday with some of the Salt Lake crew.

Please also consider if you don’t have a trailer to haul your scooter that we might not have an available spot. You will need to make arrangements!

If you have any questions or concerns OR if you wanna RSVP, please email brigham at brighamsbees dot com! See you there!

Surprise Dave!

December 22nd, 2009

scooterloungefestWe were able to successfully pull the wool over Dave and Kaerlig’s eyes when they waltzed in the door to see their friends gathered around to show their support for him and his family.

The night started off with the help of the Everitt parents getting everyone some food and eggnog whilst Taylor and Derek entertained the group and got the night rolling into an auction. From Scooter toys, Brigham’s Bees gear, BBSC custom made clocks (By Jake Everitt) to comic books, scooter oil, and so much more!

I’m not sure what the total was/is for how much was donated but I’m pretty sure it ended up well past $2400. It was a Christmas party to remember for the Bees.

We all left with a tummy ache full of eggnog, a cheerful spirit, and we all left knowing we did something awesome for “The big guy” after all the times he did something awesome for us.

scooterloungefest2A cool video was thrown together by Sean for everyone, eggnog was consumed by the gallons, and we were able to hand out another medal of honor award to Lee for his dedication to the club by assisting every way he could. Taylor was also issued a purple heart for surviving not one, but two accidents and a near miss with some dangerous cows!

And that’s gonna wrap it up for 09′! I mean, HOW could it get any better?! Squaw peak, Heber, LDS scooter rally, camping, Provo State Park, India Fest and everything in between. I know 09 has been awesome for the scooter club.

And I know 2010 will have some big shoes to fill in as far as adventures go… But if we throw in as much enthusiasm and excitement as we did last year, it can only get better.

Merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year!

What a way to end the season!

October 12th, 2009

lastphotoWell everyone, 09′ riding season has come and gone. But WHAT AN ADVENTURE! From a exhilarating ride to Heber, the Last Days of Summer Rally, Provophenia, bowling in Payson, to even the ride that started the resurrection of the bees, This year has been nothing but fun!

Last weekends ride was a great way to end the season. The bees started off from the usual spot which will now be deemed “Brighams spot“. Once we waited for everyone to show and filled up on gas, the bees took off onto probably the most insane ride yet. Up Spanish Fork Canyon. Yes, that’s right. Spanish Fork Canyon. Host to numerous amounts of accidents, crashes, and fatalities. The bees took on the demon itself with confidence in our hearts and scoots putting through the madness. When we finally turned off the death canyon, into Diamond Fork Canyon, We encountered cows and deers of all sorts on the shoulder of the roads. Unfortunately for Taylor Allen, he met the cow on the road. As he was crossing in front of Taylor. Almost turning him into a cow patty!

Upon reaching camp, we said our farewells to the scoots and took a hike to the hot pots. The trail was worn, and the hike was intense for those less active than others, but the end result of basking in the 100+ degree water was worth it. We laughed, shared stories, and met new friends (I’m talkin’ to you Lurkee McStrokem.) As the sun set, we hiked our way back out and arrived back at our scooters at nightfall. The demon that is the Spanish Fork Canyon had one more fight left. We battled her through the darkness and left her in a cloud of 2 stroke smoke unscathed.

The rest of the bees that weren’t ready for the night to end, celebrated with food at the Bombay House. It was a ton of fun to talk about the previous rides, what we liked, what we didn’t, and what we want to do next year.

We all left the restaurant knowing that we would see eachother again soon with our scooters ready to rock. But when? Who knows! So with that said, stay tuned within the next couple weeks for a possible ride before the really cold weather sets in. Also, make sure to check back to see the extra special blog post about our adventures this year as well as the date where all of us will meet up to have a winter party! PLUS! The debut video of this years crazy fun. The scooter season may be about done, but that doesn’t mean the scooter club is! Thanks everyone for making this scooter season awesome. You made it fun and exciting!

If you have videos or photos that you took of the scooter club, PLEASE! Send an email to sean [at] brighamsbees.com to work out how to get the photos in the video! See you all around!

Brigham’s Bees LAST RIDE OF THE SEASON

October 7th, 2009

hotpotsThe final ride of the season is here! Love the cold or hate it, we are gonna bundle up, head into the Diamond Fork Canyon, and hike up to the hot pots to then un bundle up and take a dip!

The ride will start early at 3:00 PM to catch what’s left of the warmth the sun provides, and make our way to Diamond Fork Canyon. Possibly check out the cool windmills. Once we are up there, the adventure to the hot pots is on! A small hike from our scoots up the canyon a bit will lead us there to chill, hang out, get a little wet, and enjoy the scenery!

***WARNING***

There are nudists constantly out there difficultletting their free spirits hang out and the such, so be warned. I’ve talked with alot of people and the time we are going is pretty good for the least amount of those kind of “encounters”. Nevertheless, it might happen so keep that in mind!

Afterwards, we will close the doors to the club until an adventure in the winter where we will hang out, party, watch movies of our rides, and plan fun stuff for next years epic crusades. (TBA)

The ride up is fairly awesome even if you go hiking with us or not, so join us for the last ride of the season!

How much fun can you have camping with your scooter?

September 29th, 2009

treesThe answer? Excessive amounts. The Brigham’s Bees gave summer a proper send off with the ride out to Squaw Peak. This ride was relaxing and a much needed change of pace as far as scooter rides go.  Even though we had quite a few hiccups, and I completely understand the lack of people at the ride, BUT! Regardless of the handful of scooters that came, we still had an awesome time.

The weekend was probably the perfect weekend for a camp out. The ride was cool, the sunset we saw was jaw dropping, and we were able to set up camp just as night fell. We unfortunately had a couple incidents. Katie’s scoot blew a tire, and through time crunches, some scooterists were left behind (Sorry Lee!) But everyone that made it to the campsite had a really good time.

We all stayed around the campfire talking scooter tales, cracking jokes, and more importantly, Roy dickson was prized with the coveted Brigham’s Bees Coin for his dependable attendance to all rides and more impressive, was the day Roy no longer became a scooterist, but an astronaut medalofhonoras he sent his scooter along with him self into the atmoshpere off the cement jump at the old Vespa dealership in Orem. Kudos Roy! You deserve it.

Outside of that, everyone started to wind down after eating and took off into their own tents / sleeping bags. If you missed the ride, there’s one more chance to catch a fun ride to the hot pots! See you there on October 10th!
